Volunteer to be a part of the GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon.
We're looking for at least 2,500 volunteers in several key areas for Race Weekend, including the two-day Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 22, the Rothman Institute 8K race and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, November 22, and the Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday, November 23.

If you have a great personality, a strong work ethic and an interest in having fun, these volunteer opportunities are for you. Plus, all volunteers will receive a free GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon apparel item!
There is a role for everyone! Sign up with friends, family, co-workers, schools and churches. You can work together and have fun while supporting this Philadelphia tradition.
Before you sign up, please review the volunteer guidelines to ensure that you are eligible and understand the expectations.
Marathon and Half Marathon race-day activities on Sunday, November 23 include roles such as a course marshal, course monitor, or as a support person at the start, finish, or along the 26.2 mile course. Course marshals will give directions to runners and spectators, advising and responding to their needs along the way. Volunteers are also needed at hydration stations to keep marathoners from getting dehydrated on their run. Hydration station workers fill, distribute and clean up refreshment cups at each station along the route. Volunteers are also needed to set up and distribute medals, blankets and post-race refreshments.
The GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon is also partnering with the Mayor's Office of Sustainability, and the Mayor's Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service to create a team of Waste Watchers-volunteers who help educate race attendees about recycling and compost while helping the Marathon reach an ambitious goal of 85% waste diversion from landfills. At the race Start/Finish, water stops, and spectator areas, Waste Watcher volunteers will help event-goers sort their trash, recycling, and compost into the right containers.
